The opportunity
A high-growth, ASX-listed technology company is investing in its finance function and has created a newly shaped FP&A Analyst role to support its next phase of scale. This is a genuine opportunity to step beyond reporting and become a trusted commercial partner to the business, shaping the numbers behind strategic decisions during a period of meaningful transformation. You will join a collaborative team that values curiosity, clarity and the ability to turn data into a story leaders can act on.
What you’ll do
- Build and maintain rolling forecasts, annual budgets and three-way financial models that underpin commercial decision-making.
- Partner with department heads to translate operational drivers into clear financial outcomes and credible plans.
- Deliver insightful monthly variance analysis, identifying trends, risks and opportunities and recommending practical actions.
- Prepare board and executive reporting packs that distil complex data into a concise, decision-ready narrative.
- Develop dashboards and improve forecasting tools, streamlining processes and strengthening data integrity across systems.
- Support investment cases, scenario modelling and ad hoc analysis that guide capital allocation and growth initiatives.
What you’ll bring
- CA or CPA qualification (completed or well progressed), supported by a relevant accounting, finance or commerce degree.
- Demonstrated FP&A, commercial finance or management accounting experience, ideally within a fast-paced or listed environment.
- Strong financial modelling skills and advanced Excel capability, with confidence handling large and complex datasets.
- Exposure to modern planning or BI tools (such as Power BI, Workday Adaptive, Anaplan or similar) viewed favourably.
- Sharp analytical thinking paired with genuine commercial acumen and a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to make the numbers meaningful for non-finance audiences.
Why this role
- Real influence: your analysis will directly inform executive and board decisions at a pivotal stage of growth.
- Room to grow: clear development pathways, mentoring and the autonomy to own your portfolio end to end.
- A modern, flexible environment with hybrid working and a competitive package, including superannuation.
